How Long Have You...?
How Long Have You...? — Use the present perfect with for and since to describe situations that started in the past and continue now.
Notice the pattern
Marta has worked remotely for three years. She has lived in Kraków since 2021. Her colleague asks, “How long have you worked remotely?” Marta answers, “I’ve worked remotely for three years.” We use the present perfect because the situation started in the past and is still true now. Use for with a period of time: for two weeks, for six months, for a long time. Use since with the moment the situation began: since Monday, since 2021, since I graduated.
